What to Do on Rainy Days – Fun Indoors for the Whole Family
Rainy days during the holidays can feel like a bit of a letdown, especially when outdoor plans are suddenly off the table. But don’t worry — a little rain doesn’t mean the fun has to stop! With a few creative ideas (and a good meal), you can turn a grey day into a great one.

Bring the Fun Indoors
When the weather isn’t on your side, it’s the perfect chance to try some indoor games that are fun for both kids and grown-ups. Two favourites we love are Origami and

Fukuwarai!
Fukuwarai is a traditional Japanese game — think “Pin the Tail on the Donkey”, but instead of a donkey, you’re creating a funny face. You simply cut out the eyes, nose, and mouth from paper, close your eyes, and try to place them in the right spots on a blank face. It’s simple, hilarious, and always good for a giggle.
Get Creative with Origami
Looking for something a bit more calming? Try folding origami with the kids. The classic paper crane is always a beautiful challenge, but younger children might love making a jumping frog that actually hops!
You don’t need much — just a few sheets of paper and a little patience. It’s a great way to keep little hands busy and encourage mindfulness while having fun together.
