IZAKAYA – 居酒屋
An ‘izayaka’ is a type of informal Japanese pub.They are casual places for eating and drinking. The word izakaya entered the English language by 1987. It is a compound word consisting of “i” (to stay) and “sakaya” (sake shop), indicating that izakaya originated from sake shops that allowed customers to sit on the premises to drink.
MIDORI – みどり
is the Japanese word for “green” and may refer to places, people, environment, technology, entertainment and eats.
OMOTENASHI – おもてなし
Customer Comes First.
“Omotenashi” is a Japanese word which represents the act of providing detailed service in a variety of ways to allow guests to spend a relaxing and memorable time by putting customers first. “Omotenashi” is translated into “hospitality”.

Izakaya Midori is one of my favourite vegan restaurants on the Gold Coast. Absolutely amazing food that’s always so beautifully presented and photo worthy! Intimate atmosphere and wonderful staff – highly recommend!
